Small business marketing is the way to go. With over a billion people on the planet needing service providers and products there is always room for a business that can provide what the customer wants. Here are 3 great ways to market your business that will guarantee your success.

1. Have an Online presence

Maketing Ideas

With over 80% of people searching online for service providers you must have a presence. The truth is it does not cost a fortune and you can do it yourself. This in 2010 should be your number one small business marketing idea to implement.

A simple WordPress blog can be created in minutes. There are free templates you can grab. Hosting and a domain name for a year will cost you less than 0 or £50 if you shop around. Make sure you have all your contact details on your site and offer a valuable service. If cash is tight you can get up and running yourself. When the money starts to flow then get something bigger and bolder.

2. Local Business Networking

More and more people focus on networking as their small business marketing idea. The reason being it works. Many networking events are free and your target customers will be there. Have some business cards at the ready and always ask what the other person does first, then tell them about you.

3. Strategic Alliances

As a new business owner one of the fastest ways to access customers is to work with other peoples! And share some of your profits. Many business owners are put off this idea and yet there are hundreds of business owners out there that would be willing to do business with you. You will need to think about who might also have access to your customers where your service could be an add on.

You can even arrange a referral fee. Suppose you are commercial cleaning companies. New builders would be obvious, yet how about local decorators, or carpet fitters who will also be contacting the same house builder. You can see how easy this one actually is.

To many customers, shopping for a new cell phone is a necessary evil. While it’s easy to get excited about upgrading to a better model phone, customers expect pushy salespeople, confusing data packages, and ever-increasing fees and rate plans. In addition, competition in the booming cell phone market is ferocious, so if you want your store to stand out, it’s important to find ways to make it approachable and unique.

Partnerships with TV and radio- Make your store a fun and exciting place for customers to spend time. Work with your local TV channel or radio station to host an event at your store. These events are not only heavily-promoted through commercials, but the organization also brings tents, banners, yard signs, giveaways, etc., to get the attention of passers-by. The longer customers are at your store, the better the chance you have to make a sale.
New phone launch events- When the hot new phone is about to be released, promote it at your store using graphics on your windows. Window clings work best since they’re not adhesive and can be removed when finished-show a picture of the phone and list the day of its launch. Have a special offer on the big day, like the first X amount of customers get a free case or a discount. This builds excitement and buzz not only about the product but also about your store. Your goal is to have a packed store all day, so consider holding a drawing for a free phone if it gets customers through your doors.
Used phone recycling/donation- This is more of a convenience than anything, but make sure you have a place for customers to donate or recycle their old phones in your store. Offer customers who donate a special discount off their new phone. Promote this in your store using a vinyl banner, and let customers know where their phone will be going (recycling center, or even repurposed for soldiers on deployment, needy families, etc.).
Mobile marketing- Utilize the power of mobile marketing by ordering car signs for your vehicle as well as those of your employees. Car magnets are affordable and can be removed, but the product that will get the most impact is a car window decal for your vehicle’s back window. This can be used to feature a picture of the brands of phones you carry, along with your store name and phone number. It’s a great way to reach out to customers who might not pass by your location on a regular basis.
Free accessories- Another great way to stand out from the crowd is to offer free accessories or bundle deals to customers who purchase a new phone or renew their contract. Post vinyl decals in your windows that feature this offer to grab the attention of window shoppers and bring them into your store.

If you’re a wedding photographer and you’re keen to keep yourself busy every weekend, then you are going to have to take the time to learn some wedding photography marketing strategies and implement them in your business.

You are about to find out about 3 great techniques you can start using today, but these are definitely not the only strategies that you could be using.

Maketing Ideas

You can always improve on your marketing skills and implement new and improved strategies.

Wedding Photography Marketing Idea #1 – Implement A System For Generating Referrals.

It is a well known fact that referrals are some of the warmest leads you can receive – but waiting for referrals to be sent your way invariable results in far fewer referrals than you would like.

Of course there is always going to be the odd referrals sent your way, but if you truly want to make a living from referrals, then you must make sure that you ask for them from your customers friends and acquaintances, and know when and how to ask in such a way that you are more likely to get the referrals you ask for..

And as you get more comfortable asking for referrals, your confidence will grow and it will result in more people being willing to send business your way.

Wedding Photography marketing Idea #2 – Spend Money On Search Engine Optimization

As a wedding photographer you are lucky – a well optimized website can be a cash cow that send s you new clients like clockwork

If you have done the work and your wedding photography website sits nicely in Google than your business will always benefit from a regular stream of inquiries.

And if you look at it from a business investment point of view, a relatively small outlay today can continue to send you clients many years down the track.

Keeping a website on top of Google is the easy part, once all the hard work to get it there has been done, and the wedding clients it will generate for you will continue for many years after the initial work is done.

Wedding Photography Marketing Idea #3 – Use Facebook’s Paid Advertising Platform

Facebook lets it user buy advertising space on the site that not only gives you the ability to target users by gender and location, you can also target them according to their relationship status.

So what you would do is create an ad campaign that targets only people who are engaged.
So as soon as someone changes their status to engaged, your ads will start showing in their account, and you will get the chance to promote your services before other photographers in your area.

Wedding photography marketing doesn’t get much more targeted than that

The preparation of a vending machine business plan is one of the most important first steps for your new venture. A business plan will be crucial in guiding your business in a successful direction. A business plan sets out what has to happen in order for you to reach your goals, outlines how you will do it and sets out alternative plans in the case that things change further down the line.

It may be necessary to have a plan written in a formal, professional style if your aim is to use it to convince bankers or investors to support your idea and you may need to seek help with this. But even if you don’t have anything to prove to anyone your vending business plan will help to confirm the viability of your idea in your own mind.

Business Plan

Keep a copy of your plan on your PC as well as in files or in a binder in case of emergency. Don’t forget about your business plan once you have opened your doors for business. Refer to it regularly to make sure that you are on track to meet targets and don’t be afraid to make changes to where necessary.

Every entrepreneur or business consultant will have different ideas about how a business plan should be structured. Below we offer a sample vending machine business plan which is a basic outline with sections that you may consider including.

Cover and Contents Page

Start of with a cover page with a heading to let people know what the report is about, who the author is and when it was written. This should be followed immediately by a table of contents so that readers can easily find their way around the report.

Executive Summary

Summarize the other sections of your business plan. Present some detailed information on the opportunities that you see in the market and summarize what it is that you intend to do with your business to capitalize on these opportunities. Try to entice readers into reading the whole report.

Background

Offer the reader some background information on yourself and your reasons for starting a vending business. Provide details of any relevant experience or competitive advantages that you have.

You can also include a vending industry background showing national industry data as well as information about the local industry that you plan on entering.

Mission Statement

A mission statement is usually a phrase or a couple of short sentences that summarises what your business is all about, what it does and how well it does it. It is a good way to remember the basic goals or philosophy of your company. A good mission statement could mention something about the standard of your products and service or how you strive to be better than your competitors.

Goals and Objectives

State the goals that you wish to achieve in the short and medium terms. Goals could include placing a certain number a vending machines or reaching a certain income level per machine.

Startup Requirements

Set out a list of vending machine business startup costs and calculate the total amount of capital that will be needed for the company to get started. Report on some of the funding options that are available to the owners.

In this section of the report you can also mention some of the other things that must happen in order for the business to commence trading legally and professionally. Mention the processes and the fees involved with applying for licenses, permits and other paperwork under the laws of the region where the business will be operating.

Ownership and Management Structure

Note who the founders of the company are and note the particular ownership interest that each has in the business. For those who will be active in the management of the business it is important to outline what role they will play and their responsibilities.

Will the business be registered as a sole proprietorship, a partnership or a corporation?

Business Operations

This section of a business plan should outline the details of how you plan on running your vending business. Include information on where your business will be based, administration, any plans that you have to hire employees and how your business will run on a day to day basis.

Include details on your vending machines, maintenance, products, distributors, route planning and how you will record and manage sales data.

Try to come up with solid reasons why are choosing a certain vending machine, product line or system. Wherever possible include some supporting evidence from research that you have done.

Market Analysis

Using data from your market research you can report on the current state of your target market and identify opportunities. Here you can include demographic data as well as information that you have gathered from surveys and other investigations.

Marketing Plan

Outline a strategy for creating a brand that will meet market needs. Based on the market opportunities that you see, set out a strategy for meeting these needs in terms of locations, vending machines, the product lines that you will stock and your pricing.

Provide details on how you plan on getting new locations, arranging appointments with ‘decision makers’ and selling your services to them. Your marketing could mostly be done by approaching decision makers directly or you could rely on advertising to generate some enquiries.

Also outline your plan for marketing directly to your customers or end users. These could include promotions on the machine front or how you or your staff will build relationships with customers when you visit the premises.

You should also mention how you plan on maintaining vending accounts and customer satisfaction in the long term.

Competitive Analysis

Provide information on the competition in your target area and examine their strengths and weaknesses. Look at ways of delivering products and service that are distinctly different from what competitors are offering. Get ideas from them about what is working well and what isn’t. Look for a competitive edge.

Don’t forget to also mention indirect competitors such as convenience stores, in house cafeterias or food vans.

Financial Planning

Use a spreadsheet program to set out forecasts of cash flows in and out of your vending business over a hypothetical two year time period. If you have done your research you should be able to anticipate monthly income and expenses going forward. You will thus be able to determine future levels of profitability and a break even point.

Run a variety of different scenarios that consider a conservative growth rate, an expected growth rate and an optimistic growth rate. Things don’t always happen like you expect so it is important that you plan for a variety of scenarios.

Appendix

Lastly, you should attach an appendix to the report that includes any reference letters, documents, charts, diagrams or supporting material that have been referred to in the contents of your business plan.

There are many sample vending machine business plans and templates available online for free if you look around.

I have been running a small business for nearly ten years and have used various forms of marketing ideas to help promote my services and to attract new customers. In this article, I write about these marketing strategies which I hope will benefit the people who read it.

When I was twenty-three, I had what I believed was a good business idea. I was going to offer a speech coaching service as I had managed to overcome a speech impediment and believed that the techniques which had helped me could help other people as well.

Maketing Ideas

It is all well and good having an idea but if no one knows about the service you are offering, it is basically worthless. I had no real business experience and was unsure on how to proceed. By reading a number of books on marketing for small businesses, I managed to find some potential routes which could help me to get started.

Direct marketing

This was one of the first areas I tried. I had a small leaflet produced which explained the speech coaching service that I was offering and then with the help of some friends and family, went around my local area delivering them. This was not as successful as I hoped it would be, however I am sure that this area of marketing could work well for other types of business.

Newspapers

I then decided to speculate to accumulate. I contacted a number of the local newspapers in my area and paid for an advertisement which would appear on a weekly basis. This advert would reach quite a large number of people and even though this was quite an expensive form of marketing, it did work for me in the early days.

Open days

I wanted to expand the area that I was going to offer my services. I decided to hold an open day or presentation in various parts of the country which would help to promote my business.

This was successful as newspapers were happy to report this open day free of charge, as it was a local event which would be of interest to their readers.

Yellow pages

I advertised in the yellow pages for a number of years but their prices just seemed to increase to an unrealistic level. More and more people now have access to the internet and I believe this is where they are more likely to search for the services they require. Yellow pages or as it is now called Yell, has become more expensive when in reality probably less people are using it.

Advertising in the yellow pages did prove successful for me for a number of years however, and is certainly an area of marketing which could work for other small businesses.

Websites

I paid a company to design and build me a website around seven years ago and this has by far been the best marketing investment I have made thus far. I have worked hard to promote this site and it is now doing well in the major search engines.

Radio and television marketing

This is an area of marketing which I have not tried as yet as it is very expensive. I have heard from other sources that advertising on the radio or television can be very beneficial for certain businesses, if they can afford the initial outlay.

I am sure there are many other ways of marketing a small business and I will seek them out in the future for my own business.

The above ideas are what I have learnt about and as you may have read, I have tried some of them myself with mixed success. Every business is obviously different and it is basically a form of trial and error to find which ones will work.

Why use a Professional Business Plan Writer?

Many people find writing a business plan hard work, which is understandable as it’s not something most people do very often. It is often very time-consuming, stressful, and because you are so close to the business, it’s hard to step back and see what is (and isn’t) important.

Business Plan

For a first-timer, it usually isn’t long before you are sitting in front of a blank piece of paper wishing for help. So is hiring a professional the answer to this problem? A professional can save you hours, and hours, and hours of work. They bring deep expertise and knowledge, and deliver a professionally-written document in a fraction of the time it would take you to do it yourself. They also provide a sounding-board for your ideas; an independent third-party that can assess your strategies objectively and provide feedback. One of the most time-consuming tasks in preparing your document is researching your market and finding accurate and current quantitative and qualitative information. Hiring a professional helps you overcome this issue as they usually have access to the very latest industry trends and market data.

How do I choose a Professional Business Plan Writer?

If a well-written plan is important to you, you need to select carefully. Remember that your plan document may not only be used for your own personal guidance, but for attracting financing, business partners, or other critical purposes. This is why it must look professional, logical and appropriately detailed and informative. Professionals in the field have usually written hundreds of plans across a very wide range of industries. They will be well versed in the art of quickly understanding your business and translating this into a professional document.

Make sure you get value for money when hiring a professional:

Ask for a clear description of exactly what you will get so your expectations are met.
Request an overview of their experience. How many plans have they written? Do they have customer testimonials that are readily available?
Check if there are fixed price options to ensure that the work isn’t limited by hours, or that you end up paying extra in the long run.
Ensure they have access to current and relevant market and industry trends and information. This will help you set appropriate strategies.
Request a sample table of contents. Given that the information contained in your document is confidential, it usually isn’t possible for professionals to provide full examples of previous work (you wouldn’t want your document sent out as a ‘sample’ would you?)
Ask if there is a money-back satisfaction guarantee. This is usually a good sign that you can expect a quality document that meets your expectations, and if it doesn’t you can simply ask for your money back.

Whilst the additional up-front cost is something you need to consider, in the long run a well-written and professional business plan could be the best investment you ever make.

Do you often wonder what new ideas you can try in local marketing for your MLM or even store front business? Well don’t feel alone, I am there quite often!

My passion is to share ideas with others that I think might help their marketing.

Maketing Ideas

Try to capitalize on the holidays by walking through neighborhoods and leaving promos on the door. Below I will list some of the marketing ideas for different holidays.

1. Buy boxed Christmas cards at the dollar store and sign the cards with my business name. I include a business card along with a couple of hard peppermint candies individually wrapped that I purchase in a bag.

2. January is a fun month because it is a new beginning with New Year cards. I don’t work the same neighborhood month after month and I am able to use the same ideas over and over.

3. I got real creative for Valentine’s Day. I purchased a box of white business envelopes and sealed each one. Used my design scissors and cut the envelopes in half. I punched holes just below the top and threaded a ribbon through to make a handle. I purchased sheets of small Valentine stickers and put a sticker on the front of the envelope. Inside the envelope I put a business flier and some hard wrapped candy. These were hung on the door handles.

4. For Easter marketing I purchased bags of the plastic eggs along with individual Easter wrapped candies. In the egg I put a folded up small business flyer along with the candy. I dropped the egg into a plastic door hanger bag and left it on the door handle.

5. There are a lot of ideas for Mother’s Day. The one I like is to find teabag holders that are free on the net, which you can edit, print, and cutout putting a teabag in. Be sure to include a business card or flyer.

6. Spring is an awesome season to market locally using creative ideas. Buy flower or vegetable seed packets at the dollar store (usually 10 cents) and make a tag with your business information including your website. These can be passed out at community events or left on the door handles through the neighborhood.

7. Make up a summer campaign by going to the parks and handing out lollipops to the visitors that are picnicking, etc. Punch a hole in a business card and tie it to the candy with a ribbon.

8. Take advantage of all the fall festivals. Check on getting a table space at a reasonable price for handing out informational flyers and brochures. Put together a gift basket with holiday goodies along with your business info. Included.

Let your creativity work for you in the local market area! Remember to have an attitude of service toward others and business will come to you.

For those of you who are searching for Avon marketing ideas to take your Avon business to the next level, I would like to provide you with some Avon marketing ideas for you to start utilizing right away. These Avon marketing ideas will help to draw a ton of new interest to your Avon products, and the business opportunity that you offer.

The internet is a very under-utilized marketing tool that gives you a tremendous ability to place your business in front of a multitude of individuals who are searching for a home based business that is best suited for them and their family. There are many online marketing tools that you can utilize, but I will be listing three Avon marketing ideas that will benefit you and your business immensely.

Maketing Ideas

1. Article Marketing

Article marketing is a very effective marketing tool that you can utilize to drive a multitude of interested entrepreneurs to your business opportunity. Simply writing articles that pertain to your Avon business, and submitting them to a syndicated article database is a very simple and effective way to attract new potential team members to your Avon business.

2. Video Marketing

Simply posting a video that discusses your products, and how individuals can benefit from your business opportunity is a very under-utilized, but effective marketing tool that can send a multitude of interested individuals your direction.

3. Social Media

Everyone participates in social media sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc. In fact, if Facebook were a country, it would be the 3rd largest in the world. Social media accounts offer tremendous benefits for not only personal uses, but business purposes as well. However, you have to walk a fine line between using these social media accounts for personal use and business use. You do not want to come across as a spammer. You only want to draw interest and curiosity to you and your business.

It is important to remember that keyword research is crucial when you are utilizing Article Marketing and Video Marketing. These efforts will become worthless if you are not properly researching the keywords that you are optimizing to ensure that your material is ranking high in the search engines. If your articles and videos are not ranking, your material will never reach their intended audience.

There is however a learning curve that you will need to master to get the most out of your marketing efforts. Internet marketing is not difficult, but there are techniques that you need to learn. I encourage you to spend the time and effort to learn these techniques. If you take the time to learn, these Avon marketing ideas will take your business to brand new levels.

Dear Forward-Thinking Acupuncturist, if your struggling to keep your doors open or if your just looking to drive more traffic to your website then this letter will be one of the most important messages you will ever read.

I hate seeing healers like yourself who actually care about their patients, struggle just to stay in business. Chances are that you didn’t go into acupuncture and spend 3 or 4 years learning the best and most effective ways to heal someone just so you could treat people in your 1 bedroom apartment.

Maketing Ideas

Even if you have your own clinic… the ideas I’ll be revealing to you here will, if put into action, will be extremely effective in getting you more business.

BIG Idea #1: Don’t worry about making your website pretty — make it effective by adding some sort of e-mail capturing service such as Aweber.com

BIG Idea #2: Start a e-mail newsletter that’s packed with great, free information that your subscribers will benefit from

BIG Idea #3: Write weekly e-mail newsletters to the prospects who opt-in for your newsletter.

BIG Idea #4: After the opt-in to your e-mail newsletter send them a free report. So write something like “how to choose the best acupuncturist in Miami, Florida”.

BIG Idea #5: Don’t be scared to send them offers for your acupuncture service, just make sure your e-mails are not ALL about selling or else you will lose subscribers and have no one to market to.

Remember, your acupuncture website is not about how you want it to look or about how pretty you want it to be. It’s about getting prospect to do business with you instead of your local competition.
